Media Planning

We research, design, and build solutions that explore how AI and connected data can transform media planning.

From natural-language prompts for creating media plans to AI agents for executing ad campaigns in advertising platforms.

Building the next generation of media planning

Media planning is evolving from manual, fragmented workflows towards a more connected and intelligent process.

Advances in data, AI and automation are creating new opportunities to help media planners understand briefs, build audiences, allocate budgets, and turn campaign objectives into outcome-focused media plans.

What is media planning?

Media planning is the process of determining how, when, and where advertising budgets should be spent to reach a target audience and achieve specific business objectives.

The key stages of the media-planning process are:

  • Brief and strategy
  • Media planning
  • Campaign setup and trafficking
  • Creative and assets
  • Reporting and measurements
  • Real-time optimisation

Media planning is changing

Media planning has traditionally relied on a combination of human expertise, historical campaign data, audience research, spreadsheets and individual platform tools.

But as the volume of available data grows and AI capabilities advance, new approaches to planning are becoming possible.

Connected data foundations

First-party data, campaign performance, website analytics, audience insights, channel benchmarks, inventory data and other sources can be brought together to give planning systems a richer understanding of the advertiser, audience and previous campaign performance.

Conversational planning

Instead of clicking buttons in multiple tools, reports and spreadsheets, media planners can describe objectives, create reports, refine plans through natural-language conversations.

Predictive planning

Historical and real-time data can be combined with predictive models to estimate performance, identify audiences, compare the media mix, and help planners understand how different decisions could affect campaign outcomes.

From proxy metrics to business outcomes

By connecting advertising data with business and measurement data, media plans can be built around outcomes like incremental sales, customer acquisition and revenue, instead of just impressions and clicks.

From AI assistants to AI agents

AI can move beyond generating recommendations to carrying out parts of the planning workflow via specialised agents that can collect data, build audiences, compare channels, model budgets, and coordinate with other systems.

arrow_circle_right FLAGSHIP SOLUTION: OUR AI MEDIA PLANNER

Speed up your ad operations with our AI Media Planner

Our AI Media Planner is an example of the type of media-planning solutions we can build for our clients save development costs and speed up the time to market for new products.

It is an agentic-based AI platform that helps teams plan, execute and improve ad campaigns through a simple conversational interface, while automating repetitive tasks.

It can operate as a standalone tool that integrates with third-party DSPs via an API or added to your existing proprietary technology.

How we approach designing and building media-planning solutions

01. Research

We research and explore the problem, use cases, opportunities, and technical challenges to define what a potential solution could look like and how it could fit into the wider AdTech ecosystem.

02. High-fidelity prototype

We turn the concept into a realistic user experience by creating a high-fidelity prototype.

The goal of the prototype is to illustrate workflows, interfaces, and functionality and showcase the media-planning tool’s vision to stakeholders and prepare for development.

03. Proof of concept (PoC)

We build and test the parts of the solution that carry the greatest technical uncertainty, such as:

  • AI capabilities
  • Predictive models
  • Data integrations
  • Agentic workflows
  • Integrations with advertising platforms

04. Minimum viable product (MVP)

We develop a working MVP of the media-planning tool for testing with initial users.

Sometimes the MVP stage will be an evolution of the previous stages, other times it’ll be the starting point.

05. Maintain and scale

Once the MVP has been released, we then maintain the software and evolve the architecture to support an increase in users and new features.
