Media Buying and Selling

We research, design, and build solutions that explore the next evolution of media buying and selling.

From AI-powered decisioning and workflow automation to agentic systems capable of executing the buying and selling process.

Media buying and selling enters the agentic AI era

Advances in AI and agentic technology are creating opportunities to take automation further.

AI agents could interpret campaign objectives, interact with media buying and selling platforms, evaluate inventory, optimise bidding and budgets, and coordinate activities across channels and systems.

What is media buying and selling?

Media buying and selling refer to the process of transacting advertising inventory across channels and platforms to reach specific audiences and achieve campaign objectives.

It involves deciding:

  • Where and when ads should appear
  • How budgets should be allocated
  • How much to bid or pay for inventory
  • How campaigns should be configured and optimised

Media buying is becoming more intelligent and autonomous

Programmatic advertising has already automated much of the transaction involved in buying digital media.

The next era is about automating more of the decisions, workflows and interactions that surround those transactions via AI.

From automation to agentic execution

Traditional automation typically follows predefined rules and workflows. AI agents introduce the possibility of systems that can interpret objectives, determine which actions are required and execute multi-step tasks across different tools and platforms.

Cross-platform buying and orchestration

Media buyers often work across multiple DSPs, social platforms, retail media networks and other buying systems. AI agents could provide an orchestration layer across these environments — helping configure campaigns, allocate budgets, monitor performance and coordinate actions from a common workflow.

More dynamic decision-making

AI can combine campaign performance, audience, contextual, inventory, pricing and other data to support decisions about where and how media should be bought. Predictive and optimisation models could continuously evaluate opportunities and adjust buying strategies as conditions change.

Buying towards business outcomes

As advertising, measurement and business data become more connected, buying strategies can increasingly be informed by outcomes such as sales, revenue and customer acquisition rather than optimising individual platforms around media metrics alone.

Agent-to-agent advertising

Emerging agentic models create the possibility of buyer and seller agents interacting directly. A buying agent could communicate campaign requirements and constraints, while seller agents expose relevant inventory and opportunities — creating new ways to discover, negotiate and transact media.

Humans setting strategy, agents handling execution

Greater autonomy doesn’t necessarily mean removing people from media buying. Buyers can define objectives, budgets, constraints and governance rules while agents handle more of the repetitive analysis, platform interaction and execution required to achieve them.

arrow_circle_right OUR APPROACH

How we approach designing and building media-buying solutions

01. Research

We research and explore the problem, use cases, opportunities, and technical challenges to define what a potential solution could look like and how it could fit into the wider AdTech ecosystem.

02. High-fidelity prototype

We turn the concept into a realistic user experience by creating a high-fidelity prototype.

The goal of the prototype is to illustrate workflows, interfaces, and functionality and showcase the media-buying tool’s vision to stakeholders and prepare for development.

03. Proof of concept (PoC)

We build and test the parts of the solution that carry the greatest technical uncertainty, such as:

  • AI decision-making
  • Agentic workflows
  • Platform integrations
  • Bidding logic
  • Interactions between buyer and seller agents

04. Minimum viable product (MVP)

We develop a working MVP of the media-buying tool for testing with initial users.

Sometimes the MVP stage will be an evolution of the previous stages, other times it’ll be the starting point.

05. Maintain and scale

Once the MVP has been released, we then maintain the software and evolve the architecture to support an increase in users and new features.
